...Besides, it's fun looking at the growth rings and flame grain and pits. Some people smoke pipes for the tobacco, I happen to smoke for the pipe, and it's wood. Being able to see the grain and flaws and cracks in the stands gives me more appreciation for the flawless and near flawless grain in the pipes I do have.

If I were selling pipes on eBay, I would probably prefer to use a stand that didn't overwhelm and distract from the pipe too. << Snipped bits out >>

I have also seen an Italian made Calabresi with the same distinctive 'C' shaped rustication.

It is logical to assume that Thomas Cristiano imported these stands from his producers in Italy.
