I dunno if this LJ Peretti Virgin Deluxe Octagonal Bulldog is le vrais bruyere Algerien, as it says on their website, and I'm not sure how to check for virginity in a pipe (and don't want to hear about it) but it's a neat little smoker and an absolute steal at $55! Don't know why they aren't better known?

Of all my Lee pipes there’s one 5 point star gold inlaid era Two Star Poker I think was made of Algerian briar. It has the mojos. It colors while you smoke it. It’s mine and you find your own.

Lee pipes smoke sweet and mild.

The majority of pipe smokers prefer, a sweet and mild pipe.

To realize the small, but I think real and repeatable differences between a clay, cob, meerschaum, and non Algerian briar pipe, and a pre 54 Algerian, I have to smoke stronger tobaccos like Va Pers and stout Virginias and such.

Lane’s BCA and other cotton candy at the fair sweet aromatics are close to the same in any pipe.

Try some Happy Brown Bogie in a clean and reamed Bertram or Marxman, or any other confirmed old Algerian briar pipe.

Actually, the best and most economical way is to buy five five pound bags of Buoy Gold and 10,000 (50 cartons) of Classic Red King tubes which allow 75 cents a pack smokes better than you can buy over the counter.

But Buoy Gold smokes smooth and mild in any pipe.

Try Haddo’s Delight or PS 400 or Union Station in Algerian briar to properly appreciate the tasty sap, or resins, or whatever mysterious mojos add to the zest and kick.
