Is it pretty clear that people are tending to spend more on tobacco over pipes? I had just assumed that most people spend on both.
No, I have no evidence; just hearing people’s advise and posts. In my time here, I also notice that we have less “look at my new pipe” posts. But, it’s all just observation of here.

Also, I have no idea what his reason is. I know that when I closed my storefront, that it was just time to close. It also frustrated me that everyone jumped to conclusions that it was lack of sales… so, my apologies. I hate to contribute to the ignorance by assuming. I should know better.

Good Day All

Thanks for the kind words. Instead of wasting the band width on a business that has decided to close, go out and deal with your local B&M, go online and grab something from one of the smaller retailers, before they need to make a decision that will create another sad to see a business close thread.

Sincerely

Mike

I learned of Briar Blues several years ago, surfing the web checking out sites online.

I originally ran across Briar Report where I found Briar Blues.

Here’s an article on the closing at Briar Report.

Sorry to hear, take care! ❤️

We are lucky in the UK that we have some great online Tobacconists, the nearest B&M is 30 miles south of me a doesn't stock many blends and only stocks a few Pipes, of course we are lucky to have great Blenders in Kendal, I do feel like it's the beginning of the end, not many of my generation smokes pipes and I'm 68 now, I only know of one pipe smoker locally and he has one pipe (a Falcon) and only smokes one blend, Condor, then there is a pipe collector who only collects rare Meerschaums and has never smoked a pipe in his life.
Hi mate, I'm a pipe man from Yarmouth

Just for the record ..... I don't hate cobs. I don't like the way they smoke, for ME. I also do not like how meerschaums smoke, for ME.

If they smoke well for you, then I have always said, smoke what you like and forget what anyone else says.
My motto is "life's too short for pipes with crappy stems".

And, I permanently "unbanned" myself for lifetime.

Mike,
I hate to see your absence in the marketplace. But all good things must come to a close. I hope you’re able to enjoy your new found free time and hope to see more of you on the forum.
Thanks, but no rest for the wicked ....... lots of reno / updates to do around the house. The big difference is I now have time to spend playing my guitars ......

Why would anyone smoke a cob when, for just $5 more or the same price depending on what cob you have, you could upgrade to a clay pipe? 😜
@sardonicus87 Clays all the way for me - going to smoke one with the Redcoats & Revolutionaries this weekend. The blacksmith lights my clay pipe with an ember from his forge!
