Hello!

in the US you have mixtures of Brebbia?

They are good products that, in my opinion, it is worth knowing.

I am not sure about that, but you might want to know that they were known for diluting Syrian with Cyprian.

Six or so years ago, I had a tin of Brebbia aromatic flavored with apple liquor that was tobacco-forward and quite good. I believe the base was a quality Virginia.

Can you recomend any English material on this brebia you speak of? The link is in italian, and google translate doesn't do a pretty good job ...

Unfortunately, the site is only in Italian. And I'm not very good with English ... There is in particular a question you want to know? I try to help.

Do ask your friend about Syrian latakia. Balkan says it contains 40% Syrian. I'm very curious to know if that's still the case. Thanks!

I've smoked a small amount of the #9 flake, but did not like the "honey & milk" aromas that I would get from it while smoking, so sold it on. I also don't remember what the Latakia tasted like, I more remember not liking the other aroma.

Yes he is, he helped me out with a pipe issue once before. All I can say is that I probably wouldn't recommend the #9 if you are looking for good Syrian flavor, as I don't recall a big Latakia flavor from it. If that other stuff has a big percentage, maybe try that. Although sometimes even that strategy doesn't work out. The Mac Baren HH Vintage Syrian does have a large percentage of Syrian in it, and I don't think any Cyprian, and I didn't like the taste of that either, and was searching for the Syrian flavor whenever I tried it. I think because it has Dark Fired Kentucky in it, which I generally don't like, and I think mutes Latakia flavors a little.

Who is the actual manufacturer of the Brebbia blends. From this we could figure out if they still have Syrian Latakia in their blends.

I have never heard that from anywhere before. Kanse, please let us know who gave you that information, or, where I can get such information. I would love to hear more about this.

I may have used words too strong for that one.

It's just bits of knowledge that I read out on some forum threads, if I recall correctly, when I was gathering information on Brebbia blends. I am going to remain skeptical about that one until I sample it myself.

I've had a tin of Romanza for about 8 years. I keep threatening to open it.

I've tried both aged and fresh Balkan by Brebbia. I must say I enjoyed them both and purchased a few more tins to store away for a decade or so. While the Latakia doesn't quite have that sweet herbal/woody flavor I usually associate with Syrian Latakia it also didn't strike me as being the stronger flavor of Cyprian either but that's just my amateur opinion. In my opinion it could well be 40% Syrian Latakia as the label states. Either way I am fan and will be expanding my small stash so I can enjoy this blend for years to come hopefully!
