As a master carver, I'm sure he/she is probably capable of carving anything-stone, clay, whatever. The talent is not to be questioned.
But the pipe? Is it a good pipe? Balance, airways, stem construction, etc etc.
I have a pipe in my possession that is a beautiful work of cabinetry, but the pipe is too heavy, and the balance is completely off.
I have not smoked it, nor will I. I got it because it was so nicely carved, like an excellent piece of furniture.
The very last time I will do this and a lesson learned.
Not to rain on this parade...
