is it supposed to taste bad when you first break in a pipe? i bought this pipe a week ago and havent smoked it till now. the blend im smoking tasted good in my old pipe, but doesnt in this pipe.is this normal?

It is possible that this is the case since the pipe is not broke in yet. Give it some more time. :puffy:

is this one of the estates you bought? if yes it probably just needs a good cleaning.

If you haven't cleaned out your grill from summer cook outs, take the pipe out there and remove the grate and fill the bowl with ashes and then bury the pipe deep in the ashes and make yourself a burger or a steak - something that drips. After the cook out, leave it in there for 3 days and dump it out and clean it off. Load it up with your favorite tobacco and enjoy. Your pipe will be perfectly broken in.

just smoke something with a lot of latakia and you won't notice that new wood taste anymore
