Breakfast Blends

I rarely have a pipe early in the morning, but when I do, it's usually Edward G Robinson with a cup of creamed and sweetened coffee.

I've only had the opportunity to smoke a pipe with coffee once or twice, but when it presents itself, I have gone with EMP. I know it's probably because I'm new and don't know any better, but dang it, it just hits me right. EMP is the closest thing to an everyday smoke I've stumbled across so far.

Usually a burley paired with a stout black coffee... Pegasus, or if I am in a lighter mood Carter Hall.

I took an oz of Chatham Manor and Duke Albert by Sutliff and mixed it up in a mason jar. Tastes great with coffee. If I'm not in the mood for that I will go with KBV Burley Morning Pipe or Burlier Morning Pipe. Got 2 oz of Crumb FU and Ernie's Morning Pipe that I still need to try with a cup of Joe in the AM.

Oh, Burley Kake by H&H is great too.

I tend to prefer light English blends or lightly topped flakes in the morning. Lately my morning smokes have been HH Daybreak, PS Luxury Bullseye, and MacBaren Mixture and Navy flakes.

Most mornings it's C&D's Pegasus, but lately I've been enjoying Sutliff's Field & Stream Match Blend with my morning coffee.

Ray, I just recently bought some Pegasus and really enjoy this blend in the morning with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning as well. I sometimes like a dash of Perique in the morning, so I decided to add a few small pinches of Lowcountry's Waccamaw to my Pegasus, and wow, I think I may make a batch of this up. It could easily be an all-day smoke for me.

I just wanted to make a correction since I cannot edit my original post. I meant to say that my favorite morning blend is McClelland AM Pipe, not 925. As you might guess, AM Pipe is their morning blend. However, lately I have been reaching for Carolina Red Flake, which is completely different than AM Pipe.

You might like C&D's Three Friars. It's in the same ballpark as Pegasus , but TF has the added perique.
