Well gents i have been away for a while but thought i would share my new favorite aspect of smoking.
I have been smoking pipes for about thee years now and i will tell you it just keeps getting better but i have a new favorite part. I have always loved my whiskey and in the past month has used my whiskey skills on my pipe. the skill i am speaking of here is nosing. When i drink whiskey as most do i like to nose the glass to take in the full flavor of the Whiskey i have found that it is no different with a pipe. my friends look at me like i am crazy when i put the bowl to my nose rather than the stem to my lips they think i have lost my mind. i have found that when the bowl is smoking right and you gently nose the burning toby you get the most delightful smell of the toby possible it has changed the taste of the toby when i take a sip. it is more than pleasing it is transformative of the toby its self.
hope all is well with y'all

I do this all the time myself. I love the aroma of my pipe tobaccos and as I love to have a drink of some sort like wine, beer, and most of the spirits like scotch, whisky, well you get what I am saying and it does enhance each other. Kinda like dipping the end of my cigar in a fine single malt to savor the flavor of the cigar and drink together.

Isn't Esoterica's Pembroke soaked in Cognac? I've smoked some and remember a pretty strong aroma in the tin. It also took some drying time before smoking.
