Chasing Embers

This unsmoked pipe showed up during SPC's VIP estate sale and since my kids have been harassing me for a personal ornament for the tree, this seemed applicable. It's listed dimensions made it seem small but having it in hand it truly is tiny. Unmentioned in SPC's description is that it is also a reverse calabash.

Decorative and functional. Are you going to smoke it before putting it on the tree?
Not sure. It's a bit tiny for me but when on the tree the chamber is getting filled with silver tinsel to simulate ash.

Christmas in July? ?
June! rotf It looks like these chocolate roses my grandmother would make for Christmas and the similarity doomed the pipe to a holiday decoration.

If I had that extremely cool-looking pipe, I'd smoke it just to see what a briar "reverse calabash" is like. I know how gourd calabashes smoke.
