I love tattoos. But I don't have any. The fact is, a tattoo is worth 10 kilos of tobacco, or a few good briar pipes.
My most expensive pipe was more expensive than most expensive tattoo. A Scottie piersel sand blasted billiard pencil shank. 500 We're as my most expensive tattoo was 300. Don't have a picture of it handy as it's a pain to take a picture of the back of my own leg.

Still gotta figure out the best pipe shape though. Too hard to choose. 😑
Long, straight lines might look crooked as tattoos due to the curves of the anatomy so I wouldn't go for a billiard or churchwarden. The flowing, rounded lines of a Calabash though, I think It would work out perfectly.

I've seen tattoos of guitars and swords that just looks off due to mentioned curves.

So I'm holding off on the pipe tattoo I wanted, for right now, as I can't pick a shape.
But I've been a fan of tobacco in literally ALL of its forms and methods of consumption since I was 17 or so. I've enjoyed all of it.
So I'm going to get a botanical (likely hand-drawn/old field guide styling) tattoo of the tobacco plant itself. Any of ya'll got any neat suggestions of old tobbaciana examples of the plant?

As seen in a Peterson Tin:

I was a dumb line cook for more than 18 years. Learned a lot and got paid to play with knives and fire while flirting with servers, but it's typically a young man's game.

I hope you enjoy it and your knees, legs, and back are holding up. While I miss it at times, my body doesn't.
5-6 years ago I had constant pain in my feet and knees and back. I was taking ibuprofen before every shift and it felt like that was just my life.
My prep table was at a height - about 2 inches below optimal - and it felt like I was constantly just barely hunched over it.
I tried different insoles and used those padded floor mats (which are a bitch bc you have to clean them every night).
Nothing really worked until I tried...
Boots.
We use non-slips of course, but so many of the styles are flimsy and lack real support. I'm a big guy.
It was like an overnight 180°. I've not had any pain since switching to heavy non-slip boots.
