i love borkum riff i smoke it daily 8-10 bowls a day it does not give me tounge bite no matter how hard i puff and im a heavy smoker i have recomended it to a few of my friends and they like it i like it better than anything else ive found so far includeing RLP-6 BCA 1Q mac barrens original choice captian black white and many more as far as im concerned borkum riff whiskey reins supreme my only complaint for borkum riff it the fact that i cant get it in BULK BULK BULK!!!

i like br whiskey, smoked it for 20+ years. i like many tobacs. i need to buy some. i have not tried the new version yet. i use to purchase the 14 oz tubs. they cut that in 1/2 some years ago. gald to hear some folks still like it.

i have never tried an OTC they kind of scare me because i am such a big fan of heavier tobacco. do yall think it is worth a shot?

Reading it was made by macbaren was the first thing that popped out at me! That was a big surprise. My grandpa speaks highly of this stuff.

I remember smoking all of the BR blends in the 1970's. Some were worse than others. Plum, Champaigne stand out as real tongue biters. They all smelled great in the pack but, for me, that's where it ended. The MacBaren connection is an interesting surprise.

Personally, I think pipe smokers owe it to themselves to try the OTC's as a comparison to the other artisan blends avaialbe today plus, you may find a real diamond among them. 40 years ago it was pretty much OTC's or Dunhill blends as your choices.

People always talk about the "Golden Age" of pipe smoking. I, for one, believe that it is here and now. With masters like Russ O. and Greg Pease and the nearly insane amount of blends from C&D we are at a great place.
