Just smoked a bit of Borkhum Riff that I liked less than Captain Black. I generally smoke English blends. These were just cheap trials. I haven't had cheap tobacco in a while. I let this one sit for a while and realized, either my taste buds changed. Or I like it more than I thought.

Dark fruits. Dates, chocolate, a d subtle. Dark chocolate.

It's good, both in flavor and smell.

One of my Kenan meerschaums is a Borkum Riff Bourbon Whiskey pipe, big fan myself. Mostly lost interest in English offerings many years ago.

Only brand my dad smoked. Remember the smell like my childhood. I’ve got like 30 large old metal containers in the basement holding nails, screws and hardware that he collected.

I smoke it once in a while, never understood why its looked down on so much. Personal preferences I guess.

Then again, I love Lane Black Raspberry 😝.

I retried BR original not that long ago. Fresh from the pouch I didn't care for it, I would get this strange bitter note in the last third of the bowl so I threw the pouch in a jar and forgot about it. After finding the jar and trying it again I found I really enjoyed it, maybe not quite as much as the Bourbon, but i did find that a little jar nap really worked wonders for it.

I have now tried the whole Borkum Riff line and I really like them all, they are all very decent mild aromatics.
