Wreck across me in neighbors yard.

Heard 2 booms, tire blew out, hit culvert , flipped, I called 911, State troopers. Got ther a 8 yr old boy with his dad standing up bloody, I told the Dad get that boy down and don't move him. 15 or 20 people lollygagging around, shouted to wife, water, towels, she went across road and came back, I told Dad who wasn't bleeding you can drink but he can't, doused boy with water and saw it was a superficial cut. Stayed till Troopers came. Lollygaggers had not offered any help. New Generation, not good.

New Generation, not good.
That's the rotten truth, Bradley. People these days are more likely to stand and watch while your bleeding out, rather than offer any assistance. Or worse, many are likely to whip out their phone so they can get it all on video, rather than offering any assistance. Just so they can go on Facebook and claim, "I saw a terrible thing! I feel so bad for these people!" If someone's hurt and needs help, put down your freaking phones! Better to save a life than watch one extinguished.
Edit to add: Rant over. You did good, Bradley. Good on you.

It's always nice to hear about people helping others out instead of getting everything recorded on the smartphone. Thank you for what you did, Brad.

Not many would have had the immediate and correct response. A couple things go wrong, and everything goes to hell, with vehicles or watercraft. Good help. Congratulations. (Good photos! What a mess.) Glad no one was hurt any worse. Sounds like they will heal okay. You had the knowhow; the "audience" should have asked you what they could do. Signal oncoming traffic to slow down, or something besides gawking.

What woodsroad wrote.
But an offbeat question: what is that wheel with about dozen spokes, just aft of the drive train for ? (I gave up knowing anything about car mechanics since I couldn't get to the spark plugs with out major parts removal.)

Every generation has 'em. The Kitty Genovese thing was in 1964, for heaven's sake. I'm glad you helped out rather than being too afraid of getting sued to lend a hand, though.

Nope, not many in the new generation will lift a finger. Rather post the footage online. I saw a pretty bad wreck when I was about 19 or so. Sitting at a red light behind about 3 cars, witnessed a truck try turning up the road I was sitting on, but got hit in the side by another truck coming his way. Reckon he tried to beat it. His truck spun about 2 or 3 times from the hit. Wasn't wearing a seat belt, threw him from the driver's window. I jumped out, took off my flannel shirt, used some leather gloves and got him wrapped up. Poor bloke was shaking like a leaf and all bloodied up. Couldn't tell where it was coming from though. Few others were there and dialed 911 while I called out condition. Stayed till the troopers showed up and got me all questioned up. Made me see for sure that it never helps to be in too big of a hurry.

Here
I bought a 200cc scooter a while back and last week, a lady did the left turn in front of me. I ended up low siding into the asphalt trying to avoid her.
Three construction workers were helping me and my scooter out of the roadway before my head stopped spinning. Good folk are still around.
The lady drove off and I got a broken rib and swollen knee for my scrapbook. Got her license plate. Uninsured, of course. Uninsured motorist coverage is worth every penny!

Title reminded this millennial of, "BOOM, here's the BOOM, ready or not", from that band P.O.D..
I don't think people not jumping into action is a generational thing. I think that's more of a person thing. I know a lot of people in their 20s-30s that jump to peoples aid and I know a lot of 50-60yr olds that would just walk on by.
