Reading your thread, i was wondering if you have ever heard of our german pipemaker Tobias Höse, which makes pipes under the label "Bonsai Pipes"? Bonsai Pipes | by Tobias Höse - https://bonsai-pipes.de/ he is a very very passionate bonsai grower too.I've been raising bonsai trees for about five years. Observing the trees and looking for new growths is so relaxing, and I've found it's even better with a pipe.View attachment 217283
Dr. Seuss planted strawberries in his pipe after he quit smoking
I have not! Thanks for the link. The only German maker I'm familiar with is Vauen. I wouldn't be surprised if their was a fair ammount of crossover with bonsai and pipes. I know at least one member of my bonsai club smokes cigars, one of his trees accidentally caught fire because he was smoking while pruning it. Fortunately he was able to put out the fire quickly, now it looks like the tree was struck by lightening which is really cool since the whole idea of bonsai is create a tree that mimics nature as much as possible.Reading your thread, i was wondering if you have ever heard of our german pipemaker Tobias Höse, which makes pipes under the label "Bonsai Pipes"? It was only $50.Take note, that planter in the second post has a white spot on the stem.
That it is.It better be relaxing because bonsai is very hard work.
Indeed. Tried raising them for several years many years ago. Couldn't keep them alive. Of course, that's also true for most houseplants I've had, too.It better be relaxing because bonsai is very hard work.
Yeah it's a fussy hobby, very precise but all advice is YMMV. Pipesmoking is too but at least if you mess up worst thing that'll likely happen is you waste a bowl of tobacco, mess up with bonsai and you can lose years of work. The only reason I've been able to stick with bonsai for so long is because I'm part of a club for it, I'm glad there's one in my town. Otherwise I probably would've rage quit years ago. Most of my trees died during covid because all the club workshops were canceled so I couldn't get any help with care.Indeed. Tried raising them for several years many years ago.
