Greetings,

Been lurking on this site for sometime and thought it would be time to join in the fun.

I’ve been a pipe smoker since 2001 and go as Bigdadz on tobaccoreviews.

I enjoy mostly English mixtures and Virginia / perique.

Looking forward to exchanging with you all.

Welcome aboard from central North Carolina, U.S. I love your city. I traveled there to celebrate my sixtieth birthday some years ago. It's an excellent walking city, with a top notch art museum, fine food of various cuisines, and a wild rocky wild river with river pilots who can navigate those waters.

Hi @Bigdadz, I am new to pipe smoking, but I hope we can exchange some information about pipe smoking in our region.
See you.

Andre3s, we are very fortunate to have the best brick and mortar pipe shop in Canada, Blatter & Blatter. I imagine you might already know of them.

Mau1, my pipe smoking journey began in Ottawa when I was a student. I used to buy my tobacco from Comerfords. Do they still carry a good selection of pipe tobacco?

Big, I have to say, I haven't gone looking at any tobacco/cigar shops in Ottawa. I might pass out when I see the prices they charge. I source my tobacco elsewhere.;)

In my trips to Montreal and France, I followed the French protocol of greeting shop keepers immediately with a bonjour, whereupon, hearing my "French," they always shift immediately to English. My French courses in school and later efforts with tapes have been completely unrequited, but as a student I could read a novel in French once I'd picked up on the vocabulary in the first chapters. But speaking French, alas, never happened.

We had a French lady in our group last I was in Montreal. The locals switched to English the moment they heard her French. Wrong accent I suppose.
