Congrats! Great first choice...my first was also a Sav. I have a few of them now...great smokers, especially for the price.

Congratulations, friend, you'll treasure that pipe as your first child for a long time to come. I have a Savinelli Chiara, same bent egg shape, and an outstanding smoker. And, by the by, I picked up the balsa filters for it and find that I prefer using them; they sop up the juice and keep you from gurgling, absolutely no effect to the smoke flavor or the draw.

I used the filter the first time, then sans filter the second. Have to say it did a good job of keeping things dry. good enough for me to continue using them, but no so much that ill feel SOL without em. And about the PAD..... well, it's too bad that im trying to save up for a trip to alaska in a few months. If that doesn't work out though..... I buying something nice :D

Just tried out the Altadis Chocolate Mousse. It was pretty good IMHO, glad I bought some.

So check this out guyz. Discovered there was absolutely no way to go to Alaska, so I figured I'd spring for a new pipe.

Amazon actually sent me an email recommending this:

Being a longtime lover of zippos, and a new lover of pipes, how could i resist? Haven't smoked it yet, going to try putting honey in the bowl as recommended by some on the forum here.

Also, i'm surprised at the size. Much bigger in hand than the pictures led me to believe!
69 bucks on amazon. SCORE

Nice couple of pipes you got there, particularly like the Peterson. Wasn't too sure about the rusticated finish pipes but these are now definitely growing on me.

I have the same Peterson combo. No need for honey - it is precarbed. It is one of my favorite smokers. The zippo is awful though :(.

Nice pete! They are bulky in the hand; something that's actually grown on me since getting my first (yes, there will definitely be others!). I got the 2010 Christmas billiard, and compared to my others it's almost comically large, but smokes like a dream. Enjoy the heck out of it, bob.

You have officially gotten my peterson envy going. I have to agree with Juni that the lighter isn't that great (I have the same one!).

Nice pipes! good choices and hope they continue to serve you well.
I recently purchased a Mario Grandi, and yes, they are grandi, though I prefer small or medium chambers.
