A great interview! Bobby is a legend! Seeing his awesome collection including the Charatan’s and especially the XL Dunhills displayed at shows was truly a sight to behold and an inspiration to me.
I’m looking forward to what he’ll display in Vegas at Friday’s Collectors Showcase!

I enjoyed the show quite a lot. Other than emailing Mr Eichorn ( which I just did) is there another method needed to join the Charatan Collectors group?

So glad for guys like Bobby, Fernando, Jesse, and the many others who spent time learning about various pipe companies.

For folks looking for a podcast app alternative on iOS or Android, check out Pocket Casts. Much better than Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

As a newer collector it’s a lot of fun hearing from veteran collectors. I’m always intrigued by the stories of how they got into collecting, how their collecting evolved, and what keeps them collecting.

Hoping to see more collectors with tables at the Vegas show.

Another great episode! It was very interesting to hear how Bobby's collection started, and how it led him to become a Charatan collector. I have a few odds and ends in my pipe collection, but it is mainly focused on one brand from Lillehammer Norway. I was encouraged by the episode to reach out to others to learn more history of the brand and use the web to research as much as possible. In the future I hope to be able to put together a type of catalog with examples and history for the brand or even a virtual club or group.

Being of Norwegian descent and having gone there last year, in my most recent bout with TAD, I thought I’d check if there were Norwegian pipes and came across this brand. I tried finding one but came up empty. Any advice of places to find one of these. Or, if you've ever heard of or seen them, I’d really like to find a Tabago pipe out of Norway. Thanks!

It's a curse, but a rewarding one. I look forward to seeing some of Bobby's collection in Vegas, and I'll be bring a few odds and ends myself.

Also, before I forget, in a week or two, more pictures of the 19th century unsmoked Barlings from the auction of the Laxey Pipe Factory Museum Collection will be added to the page linked to the main Barling page on Pipedia.

I find most of the lillehammer pipes on online auctions and ebay. Tobago pipes can be purchased new from Bård himself at Tabago håndlagde tobakkspiper - https://www.tabago.no. I found luck in emailing him for the purchase as the online form didn't work.

Like most of your shows, I have enjoyed diving into the history of the Charatan company and pipes. Their billiards are beautiful and of great quality, but looking for that perfect bent pipe like Bobby has clenched in his teeth.
