Bob Newhart's Tobacco Skit is a classic and certainly one of his

best efforts in comedy theater. The old guys will recognize it,

while it's something completely different to the younger crowd.

You were right, fred. I hadn't seen this skit before. Hilarious. HAD this conversation actually taken place, the head of the East India Trading Company would've looked like a fool in a few years time. Thanks for posting it up!

I'm glad you liked it guys. Newhart used this skit for years in

different presentations. He got to where he was good enough to do

the skit as Sir Walter Raleigh, without the telephone, in the royal court.

Newhart has always been funny. He is definitely unique. On a similar note, Don Rickles is one of my favorites from the good ol' days of comedy. If you go to Youtube and search for Don Rickles, the videos that you find will leave you rolling. He was one of the funniest of all the Dean Martin Roasters, Foster Brooks runs a close second.
