I love the nostalgia of these things! Never knew what they were called but I would love to get some for my house. Just reminds me of being a kid and driving around to see Christmas lights!

I’d hate to think what it would cost to have molds made. I wonder if the original molds are still around?

Not one of those, but I have one of these (with a color wheel)

I think the metallic trees and plastic figures are ugly. Can't stand 'em LOL! To each her own, no matter how putrid her taste is! LOL!!!

I'm surprised someone hasn't restarted production of these things. Good to know I'm not alone in this, but seeing the prices of these vintage pieces proves it as well.
I was in Menards (home improvement big box store) this morning and look what I found. So, they're still being made.

Just for the record. There are a difference between Blow Mold figures and blow up decorations.

Correct, the hard plastic ones are blow molds, which fetch huge money now.

A blow-up or inflatable decoration seems to be the trend now.
I have a few "antique" blow mold figures I found in antique malls. I also have a couple of cheap blow-up figures my youngest two grand daughters like them. When I say antique, it's because the address on the labels don't have zip codes.

I saw a 5-foot tall blow mold Santa Claus a couple of years ago that was in very good condition. They only wanted $1,500 which was out of my price range.

I was going to ask if any of the chain big box stores have blow mold decorations, but at those prices, I guess I'd have to find one at a yard sale. The blow-up decor look too disheveled when you turn them off and they deflate. It looks like a crime scene. Whereas a few perky rigid plastic items stay alert. But being so pricey, I'd think they'd be stolen.

@mikethompson

There's a house that I drive by a few times a week that has 30-40 of them spread out in the front yard. I will be driving by tomorrow. I'll stop and take a pic and post it.
30-40? Boy, was I off. There's probably close to 100 in this yard. This was the best pic I could get today without getting out of the car and standing in the middle of the street.
