Up until my last visit, which was few months ago, I had no issues. Do they only want North American visitors now, or something? I'm not using a VPN. Shame as I was looking to do some research for what to smoke next. Anybody else experiencing this?

Yup, I think anyone outside of the usa has been blocked. I can't view it in canada either, can't view cupojoes website anymore, I've cleared cookies and still nothing.

And don't grab a free vpn, they're all owned by the Chinese government mostly and will infect your computer with malware to get your passwords, banking info, etc. I'm done buying tobacco, lifetime supply achieved so don't really need to access these sites anymore

I believe Brian Levine spoke about this on a recent podcast. If memory serves me correct this is along the lines of what is happening:

STG bought MacBarren who had owned TobaccoReviews. Now STG owns it and they view the TobaccoReviews site as “marketing” which marketing is not allowed of tobacco products in the UK and other countries, so it will be blocked.

fun fact with law. It's not always clear cut until it gets tried. And the fact that they own a significant portion of the products on the site it could be argued. Ironically if it really was good marketing they'd lean into the user created content of it. (though I think it does have ads too).

The anti-tobacco push is an early days test run of a process/mechanism. Get the bugs out, determine what actions are most effective, set legal precedent, and so forth.

After the mechanism is up and running smoothly, which citizen behavior, activity, interest, product, etc. gets plugged into it next time depends on the whim of the people who operate it.

And the time after that, and the time after that.

I did that last night. I think my Proton VPN has a free USA server which I can fire up to circumvent the geoblock.
Sorry to hear the bad news. I also use Proton VPN. As I’m sure you know Beaker, they’re based in Switzerland and dedicated to privacy. For the people unfamiliar, they have a free version for use on one device. I’m unsure which servers are available to Europe, but it may be worth a try.

At the risk of taking a wildly unpopular position I believe that non US Homo Sapiens should get down on their knees and thank STD for blocking access to this site.

Tobaccoreviews.com has been lobotomized several times over, the most lobotomized by MacBaren, which stuck a bunch of polish over their turd. Trying to do a targeted search is like trying to gather peas with stumps in place of hands.

And while there are a handful of knowledgeable reviewers, the vast majority of reviews are completely illiterate, and illuminating of little more than the reviewer's lack of knowledge and lack of palate. Yes, I know that it's a site for amateurs, not professionals, and basically a vanity site at that, so there are few standards, so shut the fuck up, etc, but time is fleeting, life is short, and If I can save one, just one poor innocent soul it will be worth it.

You, you aliens out there, you are being saved for a higher purpose, certainly a purpose higher than wading blind through a steaming bubbling cesspool, just because someone turned out the lights.

CupOJoes is no more…this was acquired by STG and shut down.

I think this is more a popular opinion than the opposite. TR is usefull once you have found reviewers with similar taste than yours , and whose writing speaks to you. JimInks does a great job for this community, but he is not one of them as far as I am concerned. But others are. And you need to look at recent reviews, as blends change with time and reviews become irrelevant.

I see this less as a matter of confidence in the reviews at that site, and more about those in power believing they have the moral authority to censor, and control access to information.
