Agree absolutely. I'd really burned out on latakia and found this blend to have just the right balance. It got me back into enjoying latakia.

For VA-based blends, Fillmore is a great choice (it definitely does have a small pinch of latakia!), and McClelland's Black Shag is even better (I love the interplay of the dark stoved Virginias and the latakia).
Some of the English/Balkan blends I've tried on forum members' recommendation have led me to some delicious blends with a slightly higher latakia content. What may seem light or non-existent to a regular latakia smoker will seem more obvious/heavy-handed to those of us who don't smoke it much, but McConnell's Oriental was the one to unlock this world for me. McClelland's Yenidje Highlander (originally suggested to me by Fitzy) is also great, and so is Bombay Court (as Mike Stanley mentioned above).

Not a fan of Latakia? You need to pick up a tin of Cornell&Diehls Buffalo Soldier. It's a variety of Virginias, nice dose of perique, and a splash of Latakia. It's essentially a Vaper with a kiss of Latakia. GL Pease Piccadilly is very close to BS. It has a tad bit more Latakia, tad less of perique and seems to have a bit more of bright Virginia. I prefer Buffalo Soldier over Piccadilly. But both are enjoyable.
Key Largo, Red Rapparee, Bombay Court, Tashkent are all solid blends that have inoffensive amounts of lat to this latophobe.

The admission of this little plagiarism makes me no less proud of the final result. I employed similar thievery when I concocted Fillmore. (Yes, Virginia, there is a little of the smoky stuff in that one, too. Some, those very sensitive to its presence, will easily notice it; others would only notice its absence.) John Cotton No.1, Presbyterian (either the Planta tin or P&C's new match), Red Rapparee and McConnell's Oriental.
McConnell's Oriental is my favorite of the pack. With a little age on it, say three years, the already light latakia presence fades even further, leaving only leather and a faint smoke, with none of it's usual overwhelming characteristics.

I don't really care for it but I think you might like Mississippi River, it sounds like just what you're looking for.
I would add SG Chocolate Flake to this list. It has just a hint of Latakia and in my opinion is a wonderful tobacco.
