I have smoked plenty of Syrian Latakia. Or what we used to just call, Latakia. You will not be able to match any of the experiences of any of us old guys. Cyprian Lat does not hit the spot but, it is the only game in town. If you do obtain a vintage blend, it will still not give you the “same” experience because Syrian Lat measurably mellows over time. I have smoked through all of my old Dunhill tins with Syrian. Some of these were 30+ years old. They were great but, the Lat was much more nuanced. I have some tins of the last round of Ashton Artisan Blend that contained Syrian. I will save them for a “special“ occasion. I don’t expect these, or anything else, will bring back that once lovely experience.

You guys have blown my mind, and may have given me the motivation I need to start stocking up. What the wife doesn't know, won't hurt her right? She can't possible notice a few extra dozen jars laying around!

She won't let me take pics of hers. Mostly bulk Virginias. Most recently a pound of Rouxgaroux. At last count I think she still has 20-25 tins of Frog Morton Cellar and about five pounds of Red Cake.
Sounds like a keeper.

On the other hand, if some irreconcilable difference should occasion..say a separation- who gets the cellars? Just saying.
