Thank you to all for the words of advice and recommendations. This is really a great place to learn. I have been focusing on slowing down all week. To that end I have certainly found a pace that is too slow. Relight, relight, relight, relight, ok maybe speed up just a bit. But I agree that slow is the way. I have had some great smokes since I took the pipe back up regularly and as I endeavour to follow the guidance on this forum, they are only getting better.
JimInks, your reviews have been immensely helpful. They have pointed me towards many blends that I thoroughly enjoy. For a new pipe smoker like me, reviews like yours are a light in the dark.

I have had some great smokes since I took the pipe back up regularly and as I endeavour to follow the guidance on this forum, they are only getting better.
