Do you have any favorite English blends and what desserts?

nope but I do have certain situations that cause me to reflexively crave a certain blend or style of tobacco. Often locations can do that to me. Like when I visit the fields near where I grew up I crave goopy aromatics or dark fired heavy blends.

I am now doing 3 a day on average. Some people I know smoke like 4-5+ normally. I don’t know how they have the time.

Of course, I jest. I know guys who smoke upwards of 15 bowls a day. Much like you I don’t have the time to enjoy more or the need. The only time I’ll ever exceed three bowls is if I’m at a pipe club gathering or with a friend. For me it’s about enjoyment and two to three (sometimes one) bowls a day does the trick.

No. I don't change into black tie for the dinner.

I enjoy starting the day with a burley, usually of the old-timey, "codger" style. During the course of a day, almost all of my bowls will be of the all-day variety, I may have a latakia blend later in the day - fuller flavored in cooler weather. I smoke more blends that are fuller in flavor in cooler weather, as well. I prefer to end my pipe-smoking day with something fairly easy going - last night it was Amphora Virginia.

It doesn't matter to me what time of day or the weather outside I still smoke exactly the same thing. I have three VaPers that I smoke year round.

Just as you feel that certain blends fit certain times, so I feel that smoking in general fits the evening. It's something to unwind with when the day's work is done. I never smoke in the morning.

I like VAs and VaPers year round, but they do seem especially fitting in the spring and summer.

Latakia I like in the fall and winter, or anytime that I'm around a camp fire.

I do find myself reaching for aromatics more around Christmas.
