Which blenders use PG and how much is too much? Scale is 0-10 with 10 = swimming in PG.

My thoughts (on average) :

C&D - 2
Sutliff - 8 with a few blends below 3.
Pease - 2
H&H - 3
Peretti - 0
Rattrays - 0
Dunhill/Peterson - 5
Peter Stokkebye - 4
SPC - 3
The Country Squire - 7
Boswells - 6
Arango - 4
Samuel Gawith - 4
G&H - 5

I am most likely way off on these estimates.

Mainly Lane, Sutliff, and the various OTC blends.

Any blend that will not dry out basically (probably) has some PG in it. If it can dry out, it doesn't have any. That means most of the ones on your list doesn't have any PG in them.

I know for a fact that C&D and Pease do not use it.

Thanks. I have a hard time with Cavendish and PG. I think it has it but then I am told no, it doesn't. Thank you for the Intel. Will adjust the C&D and Pease.

Some Lane products I suspect contain PG and some don't. For example, Lane 1Q 8oz bulk that I ordered earlier this year was perfect moisture and smoked wonderfully. Not wet at the slightest bit. However, Lane LL7 was quite moist and had a harder time keeping lit and was moist to the touch.

GLP and C&D have went on record to state they don't use any PG. That is not to say the tobacco they use to make their blends wasn't already treated with PG beforehand. And it's Just my opinion ; I don't detect any PG in GLP, CD, SG or GH.

I can distinctively taste PG in Boswells blends and many of the OTC's. It leaves an odd slimy (almost sweet but unpleasant ) coating in my mouth and lips. And yeah, some blends just never dry out or take hours, a clear indication of PG overdose. (It's smell and taste is a lot like antifreeze - and it is a form of glycol). Without gas chromatography/mass spectrometry testing it's hard to determine for sure who's using it and how much is being applied to tobaccos.

True. Only the primary processor knows for sure. EU regulations have caused some of the manufacturers to disclose their ingredients, Similarly, massive file dumps were available right after the Master Settlement days, and some indefatigable researchers have highlighted some recipes from domestic manufacturers. I don’t assume any blend is totally free of PG. Keep in mind that this is an industry with a proven track record of perjury about their additives. Our favorite “artisan” blenders don’t get their leaf from Old McDonald, they get it from the conglomerates.

Dunhill/Peterson has little to no PG

Sutliff, Lane, STG.... loaded with it.
Not all produced by them... but their main brands. Molto Dolce is like 75% PG lol

Some people say they can taste it and/or smell it in blends. I've never identified what I feel is PG. I'm not sure what this thread is based on. We don't know what is in the source tobacco, only what is claimed by the blenders. I've always associated PG with widely distributed over-the-counter and codger blends, pouch and tub tobacco, but I strongly suspect that is party snobbery, a reason to spend 50% more on premium blends. It's in there, in some blends, but like the rat droppings in peanut butter -- and I love peanut butter if not the droppings) -- it is a long shot guessing how much you are getting.
