I liked the natural a lot and would buy it again. The Cherry, on the other hand, wow -- an aftertaste that just wouldn't go away. I didn't try the others.
Liked the natural, though. And reviewed it here at Pipesmagazine.
That said, +1 to those who recommend to you that you maybe use the same money to buy some wonderful blends at the site sponsors' stores (if Walgreens is your only other choice). Or maybe pm me -- or someone with a better cellar might offer you this -- I can send you little samples of stuff I've found through this very site ... which you might like better than what Walgreen's offers. No sleight against the OTCs like the standard drugstore stuff (Captain Black, Sir Walter Raleigh, Prince Albert, etc.). I have them.
But once I tasted some of these others.... Ooo baby. Only so much money to spend on tobacco, so...
Well, let's say I get my meds at my favorite Rx and haven't had a reason to go in Walgreen's for many months. (Everything's overpriced in there anyway).

I've smoked the Blender's Gold "Golden Burley." Good codger blend, too much PG, light vanilla flavoring, low nicotine. While it is cheap tobacco, I place it above many of the OTC blends. Generally, aromatics use lower quality tobacco because you won't be tasting it anyway.

My god I still have a can I bought 2 years ago and it seems "fresher" then before!
This is good stuff for tossing a pinch on the ol'wood burning stove during Christmas for lovely aroma, but the taste of plastic and playdoh still rings out for alarm in my memory. I will say that it truly was bite free.... But the aftertaste was just awful!

Walgreen's Blender's Gold. How is the new stuff that comes in cans/tins? Back in the 90's I tried out the Blender's Gold tobaccos that you are talking about. They came in a 12 oz ziplock bag and were sub par. Went into a Walgreens last weekend to get some tobacco in an emergency situation and saw that Walgreens tobacco now comes in like an 8 oz tin/can. Is it the same stuff that used to be in the bags? Who makes this for Walgreens? I picked up a $9 pouch of Cap'n Black, for the night and the ladies.
