Both the MacBaren Old Dark Fired and GL Pease Jackknife Plug are great in cobs.

I actually prefer Carter Hall in my cobs. Burleys tend to come out nicely in a cob and it just feels right smoking a cheap tobacco in a cheap pipe.

I seldom smoke tobacco's with any kind of flavoring, but Royal Yacht has always gone good in a cob with me. It's lightly flavored which I didn't like at all the first time I tried it, but was told by a friend to try it in a cob. Have been smoking it that way for years since...

Sutliff blends Maple Street and Molto Dolce are awesome in cobs, in briars they just don't bring out the flavor in the same way. Next up, new MMs and an order of the four new cob blends.

I am new to pipes as you might be aware and I only have a cob. Do tobaccos taste a whole lot different when put in a briar? So sorry if thats a dumb question. I have been in contact with the free pipe project by shan and cant wait to taste the flavors in a briar. I have about 10 bowls under my belt and each time it gets better with more flavor.

I'm not the world most enormous cob fan but I love VaPers, and especially Escudo, in a cob, and Virginia flake too. The cobby corn sweetness balances the spice and the corny quality seems really complimentary. I'd like to try some dark fired Kentucky flake in a cob. The only English blend I've really liked in a cob vs. a briar or meer is C&D's Black Duck which is an English heavy on cured Kentucky.

I have yet to meet a tobacco that a cob would not enhance. They are just great pipes.
I tried Russ O's Missouri Meerschaum tobaccos at Chicago and must say that Missouri Pride and Country Gentleman are my favs. The other two, Great Dane and American Patriot aren't bad either, but my taste buds went wild over Missouri Pride and Country Gentleman in a new Mark Twain MM cob.
It just does not get much better!

You guys kept mentioning Trout Stream but I think I've found two different versions, one sold by P&C and branded as Scottys Bulk, and 4Noggins sells a trout stream under their own brand.
Are they the same?

I've found Heine's Blend smokes really well in a cob. McClelland's Navy Cavendish is also a favorite of mine when smoking a cob.
