Collin, the Bleach is actually more to take the oxidation off the stem then it is to sanitize the stem!

I read somewhere the other night about protecting the logos on a stem with petroleum jelly. Would that work to coat the aluminum?
Perhaps giving your old stinger a good shellacking with some Vaseline might work.
Maybe susp,...sorry I can't quit laughing,...maybe suspend the stem in the solution leaving the metal parts out?
