In my introductory post I mentioned my grandfather was a Walter Raleigh man. My grandfather is the reason I started smoking a pipe. There many pipe tobaccos I’ve enjoyed, but living in the southeastern U.S it’s really starting to get hot. Many blends aren’t something I like to smoke in the summer heat as I smoke outside for the most part. I’ve really found those old codger blends to be great in the summer, which it essentially is in most of the south right now.

I like SWR and SWR Aromatic, Granger, Chatham Hall, EGR, Iwan Ries Three Star Blue, among others. I haven't smoked Half and Half in years, but it seemed oddly harsh when I tried it, since a Virginia/Burley blend is one of the simplest recipes I can do at home with other tobaccos to great satisfaction.

Another good one is Field and Stream match.

Same here. It's something you just don't get used to. I'm looking outside and you'd swear it rained last night.
Starting to dislike Wisconsin here. And lived here all 32 years of my life. Traveled to Arizona once....boy was that nice. No humidity at all!
