I enjoyed the tin of Blackhouse I smoked, but I enjoyed the McClelland's Blue Mountain more.
I'm revisiting Ten Russians now, as well as C&D Star of the East. I think I like Star of the East more.
And Larry's Blend totally rocks.

The reason why I asked Johnny how Black House compared to the new Balkan Sobranie was that I knew that he had smoked the new Balkan Sobranie and I wanted to find out if he preferred one to the other or if it was the whole Balkan genre. That's all. I wasn't trying to make the comparison based on the two blend being similar.

Yes, no offense, but I prefer Blue Mountain myself, and Penzance, and Dunhill 965. My palate is not sensitive enough to really tell the difference between most Latakia blends. Trying some Pembroke tonight, which tastes to me like Penzance with a topping. Good stuff.

Pembroke is literally Margate with a cognac topping, but close enough...
I haven't had the new Sobranie or Black House, but speaking of hyped latakia blends, I didn't think Penzance was anything out of the ordinary. Maybe I'll eat my words later when I try the aged stuff, but I just don't think it is my cup of tea.

I preferred the new Balkan Sobranie to the Blackhouse, but neither come close to Blue Mountain in MY opinion. I like to try as many blends as I can but the ones I reorder are few. The ones I have ordered multiple times in this genre are Pirate Kake, Lancer's slices, Star of the East, Blue Mountain and Penzance. Lancer's Slices, Pirate Kake and Blue Mountain are definitely my favorites.

Baron is cringing right now
Nah. Even though it's my favorite, I understand there will always be people with different tastes. I'll be the first to admit that Magnum Opus is more complex, but BH has a "something else" that was just right for me. I actually put the last of my Penzance in the box pass, because I knew someone else (probably Marty) would enjoy it more than me. Everyone is going to have their all-time favorite and we can't all be Blackbloods. I'm just glad there are enough of you on here that I don't look any crazier than I do.

Yes, comparing two tobaccos is much different and more in depth than say which one you prefer.

My first impression was not that great, but returning to it I noticed it to be a good late night smoke, after my taste has been dulled by various spicy flakes. So now I can't find it.
