Nicotine can sneak up on you regardless of your tolerance level. The Frigate's pretty mild, but it doesn't mean it can't sneak up behind you and kick you in the back of the knees to bring you down to the ground and then stomp on you. Sounds like the back to back bowls on an empty stomach is what made you vulnerable. A heavy cadence could help speed that along as well. Having something to eat before any bowl regardless of strength is some of the best advise you can be given, and it's what I normally do myself.

I must ask the question...do you inhale? You know, intentionally? Most here indicate they do not. I do, about every fifth puff. That is a very very large consideration when evaluating nicotine hit, buzz or whatever term is PC now.
No, I do not inhale other than inadvertently retro. I tried the chocolate squares a few days ago when I felt the nic effect and it handled it. I used to smoke cigarettes 40 years ago and just returned to smoking a pipe. I'm sure I may just need to build a tolerance to nicotine again. I smoke only 2-3 times a week and sometimes skip a week or more depending on what is happening in Life.

The nicotine we get from pipesmoking is very different from cigarettes; not that it is a different chemical, but the way we slowly ingest it through the sinuses and small blood vessels of the mouth is very different from going through the lungs directly to the heart. So, your blood sugars get depleted and you get a stomach feeling with a bit of dizziness and nausea.

Try smoking on a full stomach, or nibble on a bit of chocolate and the effects of nicotine are lessened. But, after a while your body gets used to it, and you won't need the extra sugar.
Thank You. I tried this a few days ago and it seemed to work. I think I will have some Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark Dark chocolate squares at the ready...
