Depending on where you live finding a pipe or decent, not good, just decent pipe tobacco can be difficult. In my area of Kentucky anything local is impossible. Hope you get some matching funds; it's now your turn to shop. :)

Happened to be in town on unrelated business, and since I've never once in my life been out shopping on a Black Friday, I decided to pop in to Target, as I needed a new toaster. Way, WAY less foot traffic than I expected to see, which to me is yet more evidence of the economic recession the media is working overtime to cover up. On the plus side, I got a $37 toaster for $23. Think of how many pipecleaners I can buy with that $14 savings! 🍞

The wife and I bought mostly toys for my granddaughters. Most of the black friday deals I see are for electronics and such that I don't need.

I swung by Fleet Farm yesterday to get socks and bullets on my way out if town back home. It was crazy busy and for a few minutes I regretted going. But got what I needed. It was an annoying reminder to why I dont go out shopping on Black Friday.

@Servant King I think Target has many problems regarding mismanagement and shoppers “loyalty” to their brand and why their traffic is down. It will be interesting to see however what the total holiday spending will look like next month.

Shopped at my favorite local indie bookstore and other than that I haven’t bought a thing and don’t intend to for the next week or so. No cyber anything for me, thanks!

It’s all online shipping now.
Speaking of the recession I’ve heard you speak of lately, do you agree that we’re actually about 17yrs into it?

On topic: I ordered a few tins for me, a new pair of boots for the wife.
She got me a new coffee maker (that I hate, but will put up with).
All her other Black Friday shopping was stuff for the animals, the yet to be born foal, and the grandkids.

Oh yeah, she got me one of those awesome shitty looks after I responded to her bragging up how much money she had saved by asking her to show me all the money she saved😉

Couldn't agree more. The gov't actors just papered over the '08 fiasco by running the printing presses and slashing interest rates to near zero. Pumped the bubble right back up again, but way bigger this time. C19 was just an opportunity to double down on it all, and here we are, the Everything Bubble!

Only question now is which of the myriad pins will be the one to pop it...

We did all our shopping online...

I hate the way it is, but it's cheaper and easier to do it that way.

Plus.. I swear Walmart is trying to keep us out of there, they make it such a hassle.

There used to be small businesses in our town, but that was 20 years ago now.
