That would be a helleyedunno.. Amphora. :) Edit... apparently it's not a straight black cav.. it's a black cav forward/virginia/burley blend. They called it "black cavendish special reserve".

Amphora Special Reserve is a great black Cavendish black, I have a few pouches of it put away.

I have been loving black Cavendish as of late. Before I didn't hate it but it never wowed me but I now have a couple of pipes that it really sings in and so I've been smoking it daily for the last few months. Mostly captain black dark or BCA , or Smoker’s Pride Black Cavendish but I also really like Rattray's Dark Fragrant which is an unsweetened pure VA cavendish

Amphora black Cavendish is way different, it's got orientals in it and other stuff. I find plain black Cavendish is like smoking air. It's much different than amphora. I like the amphora black Cavendish. I find black Cavendish has a nice room note, but lacking in satisfaction

I smoke it on occasion and really enjoy it. Usually just Sutliff Black Cavendish, but I’ve had a couple of others as well.

Sure, when I want something super mild, a straight BC is a pleasant smoke. I like Smoker's Pride BC because it's about the same as BCA but much cheaper. Most of the time, I want more tobacco flavor than a straight BC can provide.

I smoked this once last year in the early summer and haven't had it out since. It's completely different than I remember. I remember it being basically tasteless.. "Hot steam" as you guys say. Now I pick up the orientals. My pallet isn't blatantly neanderthal anymore. I've advanced from newbie to novice. LOL
