So after going to the companies web site they were bought out but the only thing of the company they are keeping is Black and Mild cigars. Their website has something about black owned businesses. I just dont understand why you would keep a cigar that is mostly for not smoking tobacco and get rid of Carter Hall and PA

I am not seeing anything of the kind. You should check your links or re-read. The Black Business initiative banner is just a support of the cause

Their site still has CH and PA listed under their current products.

I did some additional looking, because this keeps coming up. Altria owns John Middleton. There is nothing listed in any search that I have done about a sale. This is a large holding of Altria’s and any divestment or sale would have to be reported. Altria is a Fortune 500 Company. There is no news about this in any major business journal or anywhere else online. Are they dropping products? Maybe. But, all we have heard is what has been replied to members in emails and secondhand through reps. I believe that there is some change to the product mix but, unsubstantiated rumors and total mis-reads make us none the wiser.

There's a thread here full of people that called Middleton and they said that the only thing being discontinued is the PA tub.

We may have to wait a while to find out what is actually going on. Only thing I know is it's impossible to find PA online right now.
Correction: The Middleton Rep said: "Only Prince Albert 14oz tubs to CALIFORNIA are being cancelled."

I will call again today and re-re-confirm. - Sherm Natman

Reconfirmed: Just off the phone again,... again... with the Middleton Customer Service Rep at: 888-878-4562, who re-re-re-confirmed that according to the most current information they have, the ONLY Prince Albert product affected will be the availability of 14 oz. TUBS in CALIFORNIA ONLY.

Let's hope it stays that way.

The Rep could not explain why the online distributors - Smoking Pipes, P&C, TobaccoPipes, etc. - have all been out-of-stock of Prince Albert for some time; and all out of stock at the same time.

I would continue to suggest to any/all forum-members who have been affected, or would be affected - if Middleton were to discontinue any product in it's range - in any package size - to call Middelton for themselves.

Just remember guys: Traditionally, the forced institution of unwanted and unasked for changes in America, usually begins in one State of which you share absolutely no ideological kinship with; and then, slowly spreads - with incrementally gaining speed - across the our lands; until, eventually these uninvited/unwanted changes hits everyone of us square in our behinds.

So, I always feel it's best to try to rip out weeds before they have a chance to take root and spread; even if it's in the other guy's lawn - who didn't ask for, nor want, the 'Weeds of Change' in his lawn either.

Kind of makes the phrase: "Get off my lawn!!!" take on a whole different dimension. - Sherm Natman
