Just a quick search on fleabay:

Obviously - do your homework. But it shouldn’t be too hard to find one. Finding one that’s in good shape, from a reputable seller, and that suits your style is the challenge.

@Doctor Chopper , yeah as I say Doc' auctions can quickly escalate.
I got involved in bidding for a 1928 Dunhill LC, it went for over $2500, its easy to get caught up in the bidding frenzy, thankfully (kind of) I didn't win the bidding.

The problem with a super rare pipe like an LC (or Sixten Peewit) is that they appear in the market so seldom that you kind of have to be prepared to pay just about anything to get one. Even for those who can afford them they’re a major trophy pipe. As others have said a 1967 by comparison won’t be nearly as difficult to find. In fact with a little patience you should be able to get the shape and/or finish you like best.

While the pipes you listed seem reasonable, Whenever I put in a bid it immediately raises the bid with another. Obviously a computer bid. I need to learn the system better.

It’s a romantic notion, and a not uncommon one among pipe collectors. I have several Dunhills from my birth year (1959), and one from my father’s (1926). Like so much in the hobby you do it if you feel like it.
I also a Dunhill from my 1959 birth year. It was a gift from a very generous forum member given to me as a Secret Santa gift a few years ago.

It will auto-bid for you but will keep it as low as is needed to win. In the example you mentioned above, someone else has already bid higher.

For example - entirely arbitrary, I have no clue - but let’s say it’s at $200 and they have put in a max bid of $400, any of your bids under $400 will be immediately beaten by that bidder at the next highest bid. If you, however, put in a max bid of $1,000, it’ll go to the next bid increment above $400 and you’ll be leading, perhaps $405, $410, $425, etc. The current price dictates the bid increments and I’m not familiar enough to know them by heart.

The idea is that you can place a bid at the maximum you would be willing to pay for the pipe and it will bid on your behalf up to that amount so you don’t have to be watching it the entire time.

Thanks for the explanation!

I have a Dunhill birthyear found on Ebay just looked it up by year in the search bar.
Ser Jacopo makes a Domina series their version of Pipe of the Year , and a lot of factory brands have Pipe of the Year Pipes but I think that is newer and fewer and far between. Good Luck with your search I hope you fetch a good smoker.

For some stupid reason, I like to thing that a piece of briar with the same age as myself would serve me well.
I settled for my favorite summer of my high school years - there is nothing about my birth year I remember.
I had a significant birthday last year (1952)
I managed to find a birth year pipe some time ago.

Pardon the digression:
I put on a dinner for some mates last year, and one generously brought along a magnum of 1952 red burgundy which was in excellent shape.
1952 was generally a poor vintage all round for wine.
I managed to find bottles of 1952 cognac, Armagnac and Rhum agricole - all superb.

Be patient. They are out there.
Just don't get sucked into a bidding war.
Put your maximum bid in, and walk away.
You will lose some, but you will win one eventually.

That sounds like fun!
