Some amazing looking rides on here. If only we could smoke a pipe while riding at the same time and it not be dangerous.
I don't have a good picture of my bike, so I'll get one next weekend when I get back stateside. 2014 VStar 950 Tourer, its my first bike. Wife got it for me.

Thanks bentmike, I am planning a fairing by spring. I just came off a 1984 GL1200 Goldwing, kind of miss all protection this time of year!

Were it not for the fact that when you ride, it's not if you will go down, but when, I'd have had a bike long ago. I worked at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, which pioneered in the treatment of spinal chord injury. After someone is paralyzed, they are basically down for the count with depression, processing the loss, for a year, and there's not much rehab can be done. Overseas they recognize this by not attempting it, letting these unfortunates lie about.
Bowel program, loosening large portions of hand functionality, divorce-that was enough to scare me off.
Not trying to dampen the party. Like anything else, cost/benefit analysis decides choice, and many will ride quite happily, content with that choice. What doesn't make sense to me has nothing to do with you. We all see things differently.

@4nogginsmike.

I agree, there are risks associated with motorcycles, but there are also risks with most anything we do in life.

I've been riding motorcycles since I was 3 years old, and find it a great way to enjoy life and relax. It's something I can enjoy with my wife, family, and friends. It takes my mind off of day to day life, and let's me just be "me".

I think if I went through life worrying about what might happen if I do something that might be dangerous, I'd probably never get out of bed.
To each his own, but for me, two wheels and the open road are in my blood!

When a motorcycle catches my eye, and many do, I stop for a minute or two and check it out. Oh how I wish!
