It's good to know there are at least a few decent politicians who haven't been bought off, blackmailed, brainwashed or castrated yet. If there were more like this guy (in below linked video) around there'd be a chance of changing things for the better. It also serves to show how bad things have gotten even at the state level, and how frustrating it must be for any decent person who manages to get elected:

Rep. Mike Bost speaks for all of Illinois
By Dennis Byrne, Thursday at 5:05 pm
The Downstate Republican threw a fit on the Illinois House floor expressing his anger at being treated like a chump for the way that the Legislature works: Fart around for months until the last possible moment, have the "leadership" work out a deal, and then dump the entire mess on legislators' desks without giving them time to study, or even speed read, what's in the legislation before casting their votes.

Just so you know Brian64, David Boaz isn't a politician.

"David Boaz is the executive vice president of the Cato Institute and has played a key role in the development of the Cato Institute and the libertarian movement. He is a provocative commentator and a leading authority on domestic issues such as education choice, drug legalization, the growth of government, and the rise of libertarianism."

Link: David Boaz
I posted the link to demonstrate that the so-called "Nanny State" is nothing more than faceless persons attempting to make uninformed/misinformed choices for those of us that would prefer to make the choice ourselves.

In other words: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."
So let's steer away from any specific political commentary.

:puffy:

Lawrence: I wasn't referring to Boaz...I was referring to the Illinois Rep. in the video I linked to (Mike Bost).
EDIT: And I would add, in the video, Bost is upset about how the PROCESS itself works...it is NOT A PARTISAN STATEMENT.
