Been tearing the net apart lately looking for my dream pouch haven't really seen any that style bigger but seen a few that style in canvas or waxed cloth that would cover the floppy aspect.here is a modern take on the theme. Though looking it up seems like they could be made from soft leather, silk, or linen. And like modern pouches not really a long term storage thing but ideal for a couple days worth of tobacco.
Thanks. It's just a big circle of leather with some holes punched in it, really easy to make.Thats really nice man!
You're welcome. I really like it because it holds those flat mason jars.Thanks. It's just a big circle of leather with some holes punched in it, really easy to make.
The only country where I have seen these traditional translucent vinyl pouches still for sale is EnglandI've seen yellow, translucent vinyl pouches which maybe the type that looked like waxed cloth. It was also possible to get sealskin pouches which may have been the larger type you saw, though obviously not available now. I have a denim pouch (hey, it was the Seventies) as well as several leather pouches. The largest one I have is an old Comoy's which measures about 10 inches unrolled.
@Duck Well done; it looks like a bigger version of my Heddeby drawstring pouch! Here's one I made earlier.View attachment 110329
I had one of those in the 1990's in the US, but haven't seen one since. Too bad because it worked well. The only country where I have seen these traditional translucent vinyl pouches still for sale is England
