I agree. It's a kangaroo court that sends people to prison. Your only defense is counsel that really has no interest in helping you as a defendant. I actually had a CO who tried to prosecute a couple of guys for Sedition because they reported illegal shit he was doing. One of them avoided it by stealing his own 201 file and hiding it in the ceiling. The other guy accepted a Field Grade A-15 instead.

Man, I'd hate to be "prosacuted for disobeing" ANYTHING. Sounds painful.
Sorry, Jaysin, I couldn't resist.

I can't help but wonder how this will affect enlistments. Then, what happens if they can't meet their quotas?

Having retired from military service, I can say nothing makes an soldier, sailor, airman or marine want to do something more than to tell him or her "they can't". Especially when their civilian counterparts outside the gate don't have the same limitations on their personal liberties. I have faith however, that our servicemen will salute smartly and follow these orders.

they obviously have everyone's best interests at heart...
It will never happen.
You can write a law telling a bunch of people they now have to hold their breath for the rest of their lives, but try getting people to follow or enforce it.
It will never happen.
And f&$# them for trying.
Except for submarines. Smoking while submerged on a sub just sounds like a bad idea. You go big brother
