Welcome to the forum and enjoy your pipes!

If you can walk down the street smoking a pipe without being harassed you are a lucky man.
Quite some years ago I socked an unsavoury character ( who harassed me ) with my burning pipe.
He backed down.
It was in self defence, but with a war club sized Charatan. Mind you, we are lethal with our pipe in hand :)

Well done! I once subdued an unruly crowd with nothing but a used pipe cleaner and a tamper. Luckily I didn’t need to draw the pick from the tamper or things would have gotten ugly.

Good Friday evening Gentleman, I am exited to share that I retro-haled for the first time tonight. Thanks to all for the coaching available on this forum. The best way I can describe it with my limited piping vocabulary is "3-D". It was like the flavor was in 3-D. The motion wasn't very refined though as I had to make some minor snorting sounds.

After alternating between Orlik and Davidoff Red with mediocre results I decided to try a new tin of C&D "We Three Kings" and had a fantastic experience. It was my first time with an Oriental in the mix so I suspect that may have been a key component. To be honest I bought the Three Kings just for a romantic seasonal feeling as the description didn't really peek my interest but whoa. Orientals. Retro-hale. Whoa...

I began smoking a pipe in college and hearing "tamp it down" not knowing what that meant. So I hit my pipe on the other hand a few times! Call me Mr. Tongue Bite. I'm a new member but a long time pipe smoker. Wonderful charring light. Use tamper to tamp it down. Smoke it slowly and enjoy.
