Excellent! Let us know what you think after you get into it.

If you can resist the urge to binge it there’s always stuff that bears some digestion. I hope you enjoy it.

The cinematography alone is impressive. They had access to some incredible cameras that didn’t exist when they were doing BB. There are many beautifully done night scenes shot with only ambient light.

I think that might be difficult, or rather, it will be difficult if I get hooked on it.

I binged on Breaking Bad, Deadwood &Boardwalk Empire simply because I was hooked and needed my daily fix. I've a sneaky feeling that BCS will be just the same which I suppose is no bad thing.

I'm rather pleased that by seeking out and buying the seasons from different sources it cost me £38 in total whereas buying it in one boxset would have been £80 and for a Yorkshireman that's quite a saving :).

Regards,

Jay.

After watching Breaking Bad and thoroughly enjoying it (perhaps one of Hollywood's finest ever series along with Deadwood?) some years ago, I recall reading about a series called Better Call Saul which was based on the crooked lawyer (well played by Bob Odenkirk) from the BB series.

I made a mental note of this and have only now got around to seeking out the complete series on disc (I don't really do streaming as I rarely watch films/drama on TV so not worth the subs). Then came the shocker, on Amazon the full boxset retails at £80 which is much more than both Breaking Bad & Deadwood cost me combined so I looked on Ebay. There I found a seller offering the complete set for a more reasonable £27 but there was a catch.....after querying things with the seller it turned out to be a set of burned discs so declined the deal. Perhaps I should have called Saul and reported him :ROFLMAO:

My only other option was to buy each series individually and have thus far bought the first 2 seasons (6 discs, 16 hours) for £8:50 so these will be watched just to see if they are as good as the Amazon reviews reckon.

So fellas, is the series really so good that I'll buy the remaining 4 seasons?

Regards,

Jay.
Does your local library have DVDs you can check out? They might have this series.

He had such small parts in BCS and BB but he was always excellent, understated and realistic.
Without doubt, a quality actor. I can't quite place him in BB but I'll look out for him when I re-watch it after finishing BCC.

Apparently he was in Justified but again, I can't recall who he played.

Wow, he has has quite a career, including some comedic roles. Including NYPD Blue, I need to find and re-watch that show. (it was as good as television was in that era, for the early seasons)
