I stopped by the Payless Pipes shop while I was in town last December. Ed was there and very friendly. They are set up as more of an internet shop but you can stop in. Nice selection of pipes and great tobacco selection. Have also ordered from him online since and has been very easy to do biz with!!! It was only a block or 2 off Canal St. Very near the Marriott I was staying in.
He is at 201 St. Charles Avenue Suite 226

New Orleans, LA 70170.....

I have never been to New Orleans, But like Rickpal14, I have done business With Payless Pipes online. Super customer service. Ed refunded my shipping charges once because he thought He didn't ship my order fast enough. With customer service like that online, You ought to have a great experience in person.

Payless pipes is a web shop located in New Orleans. I called them and tried to come by but they told me they don't have a shop for walk in business. They have great prices, but I just haven't pulled the trigger to buy from them as our sponsors here have prices just as good and I try to support them as much as I can.
I spend a lot of time in Slidell, just north across Lake Pontchartrain and everything I found was a cigar shop that just happened to have some pipe stuff. Head shops are def more prevalent in the area.

Yea...I didn't get to talk to Ed. I talked to some lady and she didn't really seem to want me to come by. I said I didn't care and would actually prefer walking around a bunch of inventory. Never know what you may find that isn't listed on the website.
Next time I am in the area I will ask for him when I call.

Tobacco exchange on Exchange place in the French Quarter. It is about 2 blocks off Bourbon, cross street of Bienville. It is quiet and open late, has a nice stock of Peterson pipes, and a wide variety of jarred tobacco. Some old tin stuff as well.

Eaglerico... I just stopped in. Didn't call....He definitely wasn't set up for retail but didn't seem to mind that I was there. MAybe because I explained I was visiting, etc...They have a sister cigar shop downstairs that is retail oriented. You can try there first. Good Luck!!

Tobacco Exchange is the best one I know of in the city. Crescent City Cigar at 730 Orleans has Goedewaagen pipe tobacco, as well as Dunhill 965 and othe bulk blends. Both these shops are in the French Quarter, BTW. Jewell's in Covington, and Habana Port in Mandeville are the ones I frequent, and there is the Epitome in Gulfport, and the Bayou Tobacco shop in Baton Rouge as well. Piper's Haven is in Lafayette, but that is a good 3 hour drive.
