@tyler, that is a Marlboro Cowboy on Bronco Zippo, I have one with dating 1994. When I used to smoke cigarettes (well, actually when I used to carry a pack and a Zippo with me, I am not carrying them anymore which makes me smoke less during the day) I have always had my Zippo with me. I was refilling it every Sunday, was using only Zippo flints and fluid. Few Zippo tips:
- keep few flints under the felt pad for emergency situations

- trim the wick every 3-6 months

- when you have a new Zippo disassemble and reassemble everything. While reassembling bend the wick, insert rayon balls, bend the wick over rayon balls and continue until you get this (snake) shape.

- while refilling, pour fluid and wait for few seconds, then pour again and wait, then pour one more time.

- don't overfill your Zippo, in case you do let it evaporate.

- clean your Zippo (chimney, insert, the metal part under the flint wheel, etc.) once in a while with q-tips.

I have 30+ Zippos, a few from each decade, but even when using a pipe insert, a Zippo isn't a good pipe lighter unless it has a Butane insert. A Xikar is pretty good...better than the $25 dollar knock offs I've tried. I have a new IM Corona Old Boy that I like for the reliability, but the motions for using one can be awkward (to me because it's all chrome and slippery)....and that's all I have to say about that.

I bought a zico that always seems to take multiple clicks to light - if at all. It is a dual flame pipe and torch. The torch works most of the time but it is kinda harsh.

Is the Corona a butane lighter? What about flints? You can't buy them at a gas station like you can for a zippo.

I have to say, I have been recently converted to IM Corona Old Boy lighters. For years, I was a "matches only" kind of guy, but after trying an IM Corona Old Boy it is hard to look back. The directional, soft flame works great to ensure you don't char you precious briar, and maintains a good temperature to set flame to your favorite tobacco.

IM Corona Old Boy... hell, it even comes with a built in tamper.

Corona is a butane lighter. Flints are easily replaceable, and as far as I can tell, universal. I would recommend buying the highest quality butane available (zero impurities) to ensure you do not gunk up the mechanisms. Stay away from the cheap butane, your lighter will last longer.

I used nice lighter at first, then a Xikar which I have issues with and never use, yes I am sure the problem is operator error and head space and timing! Then I got a Zippo with the pipe insert!! I find it perfect indoors and out. Plus I love the clicking lol. I actually had Zippo make me a custom lighter, pictures below. It was $60.00 as I recall, but I love it and there is only one like it in the world. If your interested in having a custom Zippo for yourself I included the link to the custom webpage below. You will have to call Zippo and request the pipe insert, but that was free I believe.

My Corona Old Boy has been a great lighter for years. Santa brought me one of those Xikar Scribe last year. I like the way you get the flame exactly where you want it.

If you can believe the reviews where I bought my Old Boy, (amazon), a guy claimed the flints that IM Corona sells for their lighters, worked a lot better than the other brands do.

I don't have it in front of me but I don't think the corona manual specifies whose flints. I think they recommend theirs or anyone's that fits.
I can't imagine there are too many machines in the world cutting little cylindrical flints. In fact it wouldn't surprise me at all if they all come from the same source and that source mostly sells to BIC.

I use soft flints in my Peterson (a Corona clone) and harder in the Zippos. It's only an observation but, I think the softer flints are easier on the striking mechanism of the "daintier" butane lighters. Zippos? Mine seem to thrive on the harder flints, bigger, bolder sparks I think.
If I had to pick one lighter as the best, I smoke in the wind, rain, snow, etc, it would be a Zippo with either chimney. For those who only smoke inside, a bowl now and then, you have a much wider selection to choose from.

My most useful and reliable is a Corona PipeMaster,

I don't enjoy the quartz click sound though.
An Old Boy is always a treat as a traditional flintwheel is my favorite, and I was recently surprised at how well it performed in a strong breeze when visiting the coast.
But my most fun lighter is this:

I had a Zippo match (not a match manufactured ny Zippo though) that my brother gave me, but man that electromatch is amazing, I have to get one.

I have a Lotus that I have been using for almost two years and a Xikar (Old Boy style)that is right at the one year mark, both have been very dependable with the only problems being user error. (for example being too impatient to bleed em) Lately I have been using matches to char and lite and one of the lighters for any re-lites, the Lotus is more effective IMO. I have been looking at the Xikar Scribe for a while now but there is always something else I deem more important.

I purchased my Good Old Boy after they changed the material the seals are made of. I have had it 4 years or so and it has never failed to light. While it is not a high wind device (use a zippo for wind) it is my back up for Swan Matches.
