To my taste, coffee goes with any tobacco. Hot chocolate as well, if you like it. I’ve always liked black tea, piping hot or iced, with a smoke, particularly sweeter leaf.

I like burley with beer. Prince Albert does nicely (again, if you like it). I’ve also enjoyed the suds with more brusque blends like Peter Stokkebye Amsterdam No. 83, or just about anything halfzware-esque, like Drum used to be years ago (boy that stuff was good in a Graber back in the day).

I know I’m repeating myself, but I think Early Morning Pipe (STG Dunhill/Peterson ... the stuff made for the last several years) goes well Mt Dew on the rocks, or Mt Dew Throwback (made with just sugar, if they make it ever again) straight up out of the can.

Coffee in the morning, iced tea predominates during the day and an adult beverage (usually a few fingers of port) in the evening. On a cold winter's day after working all day outside ... can't beat hot chocolate w/ marshmallows while enjoying a bowl.
I once heard a tobacconist recommending a square of high-cocoa chocolate when a cigar is/turns bitter, and the combination is really rich and hedonistic, although it changes the tobacco nuances quite a bit.

My favorite pipe drink is coffee, which kind of sucks because if I drink it after 5 or so, I have trouble sleeping. Seltzer with a little fruit juice or sweet tea are my usual beverages after coffee o'clock has passed.

I’m with you there. After 4:00 I would probably just drink iced water/seltzer for the same reason. I smoke very infrequently, and is usually early afternoon so coffee is my typical go-to.

Ice water with a splash of limeade is my typical drink around the house, so by default that’s what I usually drink when smoking.

I’ve always liked beer, bourbon, or a Manhattan while smoking as well.

Midwinter I’m sure I’ll have a few hot toddies. I like mine made from hot tea, honey, and a lemon slice, which pairs great with something OGS or Mac Baren Virginia Flake

While I too enjoy the coffee/pipe pairing, the evenings are reserved for sweet liqueurs like Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey, Duality Double Malt, and 43. Even the occasional Old Fashioned. I find these types of drinks pair amazingly with pipe tobacco, particularly orientals. I also like the occasional bitter (rather than piney) IPA with an evening burley.

Plain black coffee in the morning and sweet tea, apple juice, or koolaid in the afternoon/evening. I like a bit of sweet with my burley as the day goes on.

I noticed that alot of Americans tend to be coffee drinkers but also dabble in 'iced tea' - I like my tea hot(call me a traitor, I never identify as a Yank anyway, even though I 'am proud to be an American'-
I am primarily a coffee drinker but sometimes I get tired of it - even with variety - so I do tea -
Tea like a Lapsang or a malty assam - if you like black tea order some Harney Colombian(pricey but worth it!) is a good with a smoke - wondering what an earl grey would be like though

Earl Gray works. I like it. But I usually just make your typical Southern sweet tea, which is just Pekoe, sweetened with sugar. My mom’s side of the family is Sicilian, and always made iced tea with lots of orange, lemon, and mint. I love it that way, but I’ve never paired it with a pipe like that.
