I think there is no need for a wind cover.

This is my best pipe for smoking outdoors.

It has good thick walls on the bowl, so it doesn't get too hot. It fits nicely in my palm and it makes a terrific hand warmer. I can use my index finger and thumb for a wind guard. It's a bit heavy for clenching but I wouldn't recommend clenching anyway, especially if there is any wind.

Just shoveled a foot of wind blown snow out my driveway mid-way through our first blizzard of the season. Was clenching a Falcon Hunter with what I think is the Algiers shaped bowl and the dental bit. Just starting to get into this pipe - it was part of an estate lot - and I am now a Falcon convert. Great pipe generally and definitely my go to pipe for outdoor activities. Hope you find something that works for you.
