I really like SP.com too. Good service, prices, selection, sales, what’s not to like, except the government important taxes in Canada…lol. I even like their cartoons on their Sunday email…. They’ve always done me right.

Look around for a local brick and mortar to support as well. Build a business relationship and make some buddies along the way! There are some real hidden gem blends that are at B&Ms.

One that hasn’t been mentioned yet is Boswells. Their aromatics are the best quality in the biz IMO. Good English blends too. Check their website out.

TobaccoPipes is my go-to.

Friday night at 9pm-ish I decided to pull the trigger on a large enough order to get free shipping.
Checked availability and cost most all the places commented on so far and TP got me the most of what I was looking for for $100.
Tracking number sent Sat morning, and here it is Monday morning and my USPS Informed Delivery tells me that 21.5oz of tobacco will be in jars on my shelf by noon today.
Friday night to Monday morning on a holiday week, good luck beating that.

I’ll shop all the others, but usually wind up at TP. Haven’t regretted it yet.

If you're looking for an "overall" retailer, it's hard to beat SmokingPipes.com for product availability, customer service, shipping, etc. I do the majority of my online business with them.

For smaller vendors who also specialize in their own pipes or tobacco blends, I highly recommend Boswell's and Watch City Cigar.

Learning from experience, I tend to avoid PipesandCigars.com

SP has to win the top award for online pipe and pipe tobacco retailers for prompt accurate order fulfillment, individually photographed pipes, giving complete specifications on all pipes including weight and shape, and as if all this isn't enough, they have management that fulfills remarkable customer service when problems come up and even when they don't.

SP's estate pipe selection has detailed specifications and accurate reporting of wear and flaws, and will accept estate/used pipes for trade, for cash or store credit.

I think Iwan Ries runs a close second and has honors for being probably the longest running shop and brick and mortar store, and having an excellent and vast inventory. If you are looking for something hard-to-find, contact them in person. I think their inventory runs more than 15,000 pipes, far beyond what they can offer on the web site. They might have to call you back, but they probably have the most pipes in stock of any dealer in the U.S.

Luca at Tabaccheria Corti has been absolutely amazing to deal with. Email him a question, and you get a fast friendly reply!

Luca has also made me feel like family, with occasional chats too.

I’ve bought two pipes at Tabaccheria Corti in Italy, shipped to me free, shipping included, International Express, pipes arriving in 3-5 days.

Also lower prices on many of the pipes sold there, especially EU carvers, and I’m talking sometimes hundreds cheaper too, on higher end pipes. :)
