Best Navy Flakes?

Considering what a capstan is, I'd say you're spot on.?
I guess my favorites would be Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake, and the Dunhill/Peterson Deluxe Navy Rolls. Newminster #400 Superior Navy Flake would be a very distant third for me, but is still a good smoke.
I still haven’t tried Salty Dogs though. Maybe that would change my lineup a bit.

also remember Captain Crunch is a cereal mascot and Capstan Crunch is the beginning of a disaster or at least a lot of inconvenience and possible serious injuries).
PS LNF is the best value for the $$$

Richmond Navy Flake is a very nice European style Virginia

That's because only the Danes and Germans make navy flakes these days and they don't have a source of cheap rum. The Germans lost their Caribbean colonies in the 17th century and the Danes sold theirs to the USA early in the 20th century. They have lots of fruit essenses though! ?
Not a flake but Gawith sweet rum twist is mighty tasty.
I'll second the PS Luxury Navy Flakes, a good blend and a good buy, a refined smoke.
You mentioned Bothy Flake, which is a great tobacco in my opinion. It's perfect for when I want the occasional latakia flavor but still want to enjoy my beloved VA tobacco at the forefront. Capstan Blue Flake and Salty Dogs are both great tobaccos. PS LNF has probably one of the best quality-to-cost ratios around, especially with a few years of age on it.
Although not marketed as a navy style tobacco, I think Wessex Gold Brick fits in this thread since it's a straight VA plug worthy of a long sea voyage. It's up there with Capstan in terms of quality but it's not always in stock.
