I change my i.p. address twice a day. Seems to do the trick. So far, I've used it only on public or semi-private networks.
My understanding of e-mail spamming is limited, but how does a VPN prevent spamming?

My question was and is: How do you suppose a VPN prevents spammers?I change my i.p. address twice a day. Seems to do the trick.
"How" it works is a mystery to me. I'm no computer expert. If I had to guess I would say it's because when they try to back track me they hit a dead end at Nord's servers. However, I am sure with a little research you could find out all about it.My question was and is: How do you suppose a VPN prevents spammers?

This response is really for @jpmcwjr - I noticed that the VPN often means my address for pioesmagazine is blocked. This means I have to reset it. Given I travel a lot, I need to use a VPN. Is there a way to use VPN without being blocked here from time to time?"How" it works is a mystery to me. I'm no computer expert. You made the statement. It's not up to me to research for you."How" it works is a mystery to me. I'm no computer expert. Reset? Do you mean you have to rest the location on the VPN?This response is really for @jpmcwjr - I noticed that the VPN often means my address for pioesmagazine is blocked. Yes, from time to time I have to reset the location - or turn it off. This is the only site that this occurs.Reset? Do you mean you have to rest the location on the VPN?
I must be lucky, or when I am on a VPN I am rarely signing in here. Not out overnight much this year.
This is exactly it, and a VPN can't stop that. You made the statement. It's not up to me to research for you.
A VPN can foil tracking, but that's not what I questioned at all; it was about spam.
But getting spam means someone has your email either through phishing or an email list someone has bought. (And of course, some website you visited and gave your email.)
I have the same problem. The site blocks me if I’m using my VPN.Yes, from time to time I have to reset the location - or turn it off. This is the only site that this occurs.
I have the same problem sometimes. I suspect it's because some one used the server you're on for spam. If it happens to me I either "pause" Nord for a while or change servers. Right now I'm on a server in Europe and, as you can see, it's working fine. Other times a foreign server won't. The same can happen with any server any where. A small inconvenience, but well worth it.This response is really for @jpmcwjr - I noticed that the VPN often means my address for pioesmagazine is blocked. This means I have to reset it. Yup. Happens to me too. I assume it's to prevent participation from China.I have the same problem. The site blocks me if I’m using my VPN.
China and other places. There are bad guys all over. Even some of Nord's U.S. servers will occasionally be blocked. Just try another one.Yup. Happens to me too. I assume it's to prevent participation from China.
Yes, I use Nord. VPN is the only way I surf the internet from The Big Rock Candy Mountains.China and other places. There are bad guys all over. Even some of Nord's U.S. servers will occasionally be blocked. Just try another one.
I got it primarily to access international sports programming that is otherwise geographically blocked in my area.If you are on a secure home server, I don't see what a VPN does for anyone. Maybe in a congested area, where your WiFi signal is available to many....?
Can anyone explain, yay or nay?
As long as your home server is secure, yes, it isn't necessary. But, given I travel so much and I need to do banking as I do so, a secure server is the only way to go.If you are on a secure home server, I don't see what a VPN does for anyone.
