I follow the crowd on this one, PS LNF, but maybe Orlik Golden Sliced and Mac Barens Latakia Flake, not so universally liked, but good.

Yo sun - a Best Buy in straight VA flakes, sans Perique, is Sutliff #507c Virginia Slices. It is a Eurostyle cut, not thick like the McClellands. If you do want to try a medium red VA, McC has bulk 5100. 507c is a little fuller than CR Bright Flake.

Added flavorings do not always make an aromatic. Most tobaccos, especially Virginias have one type of topping or another.

I LOVE Bright CR! Fresh it's fantastic, aged a bit it's incredible!
I'll second many of the above suggestions:
Orlik Golden Sliced

Reiners Long Golden Flake

Gawith and Hoggarth Brown Flake Unscented is different but very tasty in this same vein although not as "bright"

McClelland 5100

Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake is an absolutely fantastic flake and an incredible value in bulk
