I've just about finished my sample of Paladin Black Cherry - I was warned that it tastes like cough syrup, but it's really not that bad. Nice dark burley, noticeable cherry aroma, not overwhelming (to my nose, anyway...). Probably worth picking up a pouch if you're curious.
I just opened a tin of the Bjarne "Erik the Red", which has a far more overwhelming scent of cherry - think Slurpee/Starburst Fruit Chews. I have no idea how it smokes yet - I've been working on the "Odin's Wind", which is quite nice, and I need to give my aro pipes a good cleaning before I try this one out...

I was on the cherry blend hunt for a bit.I tried a lot of cherry tobaccos. My top 2 would be Boswells Bear Blend and Hobbits Weed.I love both and smoke both regularly.

Without starting a new thread, I spent some time talking with a fellow pipe smoker at the bar the other night. He was well into a bag of Smoker's Pride Cherry and was lamenting the loss of a tobacconist we used to have in town and his cherry/vanilla blend (which was likely the first blend I ever tried). He works with my wife and really seemed like a nice guy. While not trying to be judgmental over his tobacco choice, I thought it would be nice if I would track down a good cherry/vanilla blend and buy him a bag. Do any of these cherry blends that are receiving better reviews have a vanilla element without me mixing two blends?

Daimyo: P&C carries Smoker's Pride tobaccos now so you can get it there. If you want to try another for your friend whle you're at it, Sutliff's St. George's Blend might interest him. Here's my review of it:
A mild black cherry blend, milder than I expected after smelling a freshly opened tin, which, if you are a cherry fan, will prove pleasing to your senses. Even though it's mildly moist fresh out of the tin, it burns very well, smoothly, and not hot. The Virginia mostly acts as a cooling base for the black cavendish, the latter adding a little vanilla note and plum hit. The use of the black cherry gives this mixture a deeper flavor push than your average cherry blend.

I remember when I lived in San Diego, CA and my mother would take me out to a public place like Old Town and it always seemed that I would come across a wif of a cherry pipe tobacco and I fell in love with that smell and now that I have become a pipe smoker myself I have yet to find that same cherry scent I fell in love with as a child and I have tried many a cherry tobacco and none seem to fit the bill. Can any one help me find a widely used cherry with a great room note from the early to mid 70's? Please message me if you have any ideas. It was just to die for and I want to have that same dreamy flavor of cherry from back in the day.

Missouri Meerschaum Great Dane works for me. Not a big Cherry aromatic fan, but this one I like.

Pylorns, best of f luck with the CAO Cherrybomb, it's very cherry smelling once you open the tin, but it has very little taste of cherry, and burns really hot! Very clumpy and wet. I was not a fan, Drew Estate has an Heirloom Cherry that's has a better cherry with staying power and flavor, but still not up their as a fave simply that as you smoke it can tend to become more flavored like cough syrup. I'm sure there are some great blends out there, but those two just weren't doing it! Might be a time to give Lane Ltd. a try!

It's been a year since I posted so I'll add an update.
I still love me some Mac Baren 7 Seas Red and some Lane Limited's Very Cherry.
I'd also now add Lane's TK-6, Peter Stokkebye's Cherry Bon Bon, and Stuliff's April Dawn. All top notch delicious cherry blends, at least to me they are.

Cult Blood Red Moon and Sutliff Spinnaker are my favorite cherry blends right now. I also mixed in some Lane 1Q with Cherry to make a hybrid blend, tasty stuff

There is one sold at the local B&M, thoughtfully renamed by them so it cannot be procured anywhere else, that is my favorite.
It is a cherry almond type tobacco and smelling it is like smelling marzipan with a hint of cherry. Smokes nice too.

+1 for Cult Blood Red Moon
Really, really good. One of the very few aromatics that actually tastes like it smells. Incredible room note and is a prime example of what aromatic should be.
@lordofthepiperings--I read that smokingpipes is your go-to, but P&C has a great deal with Cult buy 3 get one free mix and match:

If you think you'd like cherry with a hint to chocolate, than you might want to give P&C a go with this deal.

You hit it pipefish! Tried it when it came out and cellared 10 tins. Good taste and no bite. Was looking for a good cherry when I ran across it at P&C.
